Gallagher joins London celebration

SDLP Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Tommy Gallagher was among the thousands of revellers who took part in the St Patrick's Day parade in London.

Mr Gallagher said the occasion was a tremendous celebration of Irish culture.

He said: "The annual St Patrick's Day Parade in London is a fantastic occasion.

"I would like to congratulate the Irish community and those from all over the world who took part in the parade.

Mr Gallagher added: "St Patrick's Day brings Irish people and those of Irish extraction together to celebrate our culture and heritage.

"With marching bands, street theatre and representation from all 32 counties of Ireland as well as the London Irish, a lot of thanks must go to Ken Livingstone, who since he became mayor of London has devoted a lot of time and attention to the Irish community."
