Shouting and running in front of cars on the Main Street in Irvinestown in the early hours of the morning on 3rd February this year, led to Stephen Timlin, from The Meadows, Irvinestown, facing charges of disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.
For the offences, Timlin was bound over to keep the peace for two years, in the sum of £500 and, for resisting police he was fined £150.
Fermanagh Magistrates Court heard that Timlin was observed by police shortly after 2.00am, running in front of cars and shouting. There were two other people with him.
Officers asked Timlin on several occasions to quieten down, and they warned him that, if he didn't 'behave himself' he would be arrested.
He continued to be disorderly and police then attempted to arrest the defendant.
At this stage, the other people present with Timlin intervened and attempted to stop him from being arrested.
Defence solicitor Ashling Montague suggested that, "This was a prolonged incident caused by the other people present attempting to stop police arresting him."
However, she accepted that her client was drunk and told the Court he accepted he was disorderly at the time.
But, Ms Montague stressed that Timlin was not responsible for any of the injuries caused to the police officers.
