Fermanagh Sports Advisory Committee is once again organising the 2006 Fermanagh Sports Personality Awards on Friday 2nd March 2007.
The event will be held in the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen. Gene Fitzpatrick will compere the evening, with Graham Little as the guest of honour.
It is hoped that a large screen presentation, like that shown last year, will be produced for the forthcoming awards.
It is expected that 160 sports men and women form across Fermanagh will attend to celebrate another successful year of sporting achievement for the county. Anyone who wishes to attend can book a place at a cost of £15 per person, please telephone 028 66 325050.
Christine McCann, Chairwoman of the Sports Advisory Committee, said, "Once again, Fermanagh athletes have excelled and on 2nd March we will celebrate their success.
"The response to the request for nominations by the committee has been overwhelming. It has been our best year ever, which shows how passionately the community supports and are proud of our athletes and teams.
"The task of making final nominations was very difficult and the committee would like to take the opportunity to announce the nominations for 2006, with the eventual winners being kept a closely guarded secret until the evening."
Christine went on to say, "For the Committee, the awards ceremony will be the closing finale for 20062007 of which the committee has launched a "Sports Personality Awards display" in the Lakeland Forum, which names all the previous winners of the awards, and will within the next few weeks have the 2006 winners included.
The Committee has also developed a new logo and it is planned to formally launch it at the sports awards evening."
