Launch of Rotary Club 10k

The Enniskillen Rotary Club's 10K was officially launched this week.

This year the run, which starts at 2.00pm on Saturday June 9th, has a nominated charity, the Fermanagh branch of the MS Society.

Numbers of runners and walkers have been increasing in recent years with over 700 taking part last June.

The event is organised in partnership with Fermanagh District Council.

John O' Kane, Chairman of the Council, said, "It is a fantastic event, providing opportunities for all sections of the community. It helps generate immense local pride. It's great to see so many people involved regardless of whether they are serious athletes or just trying to get a little bit fitter by walking the course."

This year's main sponsor is Jim Dolan of Lochside Motors.

The run follows the same route as last year, incorporating one lap of Castle Coole. This route was felt to be an improvement on the two lap route used in 2005.

The main race will, as usual, be preceded by the 'Kiddies Kanter' races, which have been very successful events in 2005 and 2006.

Entry forms will be available at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum and Enniskillen Townhall. They can also be down loaded from the Council's website.
