A Fermanagh voice returned to the national airwaves this week, when Fidelma Meehan presented Pause for Thought on BBC Radio 2.
Fidelma, originally from Belcoo, is a former pupil of St. Fanchea's and Mount Lourdes schools. She now lives and works in Swindon, Wiltshire. She has been writing and presenting scripts for the past ten years on BBC Radio 2's late night and early morning slots. She has also presented thoughts on Terry Wogan's breakfast show on Radio 2 as well as Prayer for the Day on Radio 4. Fidelma, who has been a member of the Bahá'í Faith for nearly 14 years, said: "Radio 2 is an extremely popular radio station and the Pause for Thought slot still has a loyal following. One of the 'thoughts' is about how a new religion begins, and the second presentation is on the theme of the passing of Bahá'u'lláh, Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, who passed away on 29th May 1892, and the impact of his life and teachings more than 100 years on."
