Fourteen Carat legend for Ardhowen

'Fourteen carat' legend Gene Watson and his Farewell Party Band are to tour Ireland this October. With the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen playing host to the musical talent on the 10 and 11 October.

Looking forward to his Ireland Tour Gene Watson said: "As far back as I can remember I was singing and I'm not done yet. I'm coming up on five years of being cancer-free," he reports. "So I've got a lot to be thankful for. It's been a long fight with a short stick. I last visited Ireland three years ago, the people were so warm and friendly it felt just like home. I promised myself that I'd return and am thoroughly looking forward to the 2007 tour."

James McGarrity, Tour Promoter added: "He has sold over 30 million albums and had no fewer than 25 top ten hits. Appearing with his own world renowned 'Farewell Band' and supported by the best in Irish Country including Philomena Begley, Liam McLoughlin, Robert Mizzell and Country Harmony this is going to be a show not to be missed."

The show will contain all of Gene's hits such as; 'Where Love Begins,' 'Paper Rosie,' 'Farewell Party,' 'Should I Come Home (Or Should I Go Crazy),' 'Nothing Sure Looked Good on You,' 'Memories to Burn' and the 1982 chart topper 'Fourteen Carat Mind'.

Watson was the main singer in a family band called 'Gene Watson and the other four' before forming the band Hailball Express. Watson was talent spotted in Houston in the early 70's while performing with his band Hailball Express at The Dynasty Club.

Gene Watson tickets are now available from the Ardhowen Theatre.
