Classes for budding actors to learn their skills


The Glens Centre in Manorhamilton is hosting a five week workshop for adults in acting skills.

The course will take place over five consecutive Monday nights starting on the 31st March 2008- 28th April 2008.

The course, led by Declan Drohan, theatre director and lecturer in performing arts, I.T. Sligo, is aimed at anyone wishing to develop or build their acting skills for live performance.

This is a highly interactive course, introducing one to the fun of acting.

Declan will use acting exercises, improvisation, devising, text, voice and movement to achieve a confidence and understanding of the fundamentals of acting.

Core aspects of the course will include- exploring the empty space, establishing presence, montage and composition, weaving narrative and finally, process into product- the art of moving from making into showing.
