The Lust for Life Battle of the Bands final will take place in Share Centre this Thursday 20th at 8:00pm. The two experienced bands through to compete against each other in the final are Momma's Slippers and Visceral Attack and two novice bands competing are Scarlet and The Felt Tips. The final night is free and open to the public. It will start at 8:00pm and aims to finish at 10:30pm. Young people are invited to come along to enjoy the music and show their support for their favourite bands.
The judges who are Liam Curran, local DJ and Vibe Today presenter on Vibe FM, Malcolm Mc Dowell from Star Productions in Belfast, Niall Bogue from Rock the Lough band competition, Pat Mc Manus from Hi – Voltage and Paddy Glasgow from the G Festival have already commented on the high quality of the bands competing and predict strong competition with difficult decisions to be made on the final night. Great prizes are on offer to the winning bands, the winner of the experienced band will receive a one week slot in a recording studio and 100 copies of a 5 track CD. The winner of the novice
The final will be a multi media event and a unique opportunity for young people. Media interest in the competition is high, a number of local celebrities have been in contact to pledge their support and there will be a few surprises on the night. There are also 150 free t-shirts to be given away on the night. The event is open to all. Young people can attend as individuals or with a group of friends. We would also very much welcome attendance from schools, youth clubs, sports clubs and young farmers clubs etc.

A packed night of entertainment is promised for the final with Pat Mc Manus and High Voltage making an appearance. The former guitarist with Mama's Boys has witnessed international success particularly in Japan and the USA.
The band scene in Fermanagh is very active at present and it is hoped that the bands appearing at the SHARE Centre in the future will emulate the success of local artists such as Mama's Boys and Neil Hannon.
The event aims to raise awareness of support services for young people considering suicide or self harm. Dermot Lynch , Suicide Awareness Coordinator with WHSCT commenting on the event said a wide range of support services in the mental health field have agreed to come on the night.
They will be happy to talk to young people on the role they play and what support they can provide when people feel under pressure.
The Manager of the Oak Healthy Living Centre, Micheal Mowen thanked the funders for the event the Western Health and Social Care Trust and Big Lottery.
