Roslea caught at the death

SILVERBRIDGE ........................0-13

ROSLEA ...................................2-6

Roslea were caught in the final moments of this contest by a Silverbridge side who knocked over two points to claim the win.

It was somewhat rough justice for Roslea who had worked hard all through though they were a shade dependent on the two goal haul from midfielder Kevin Cosgrove in the second half to keep themselves in the hunt.

The first half had been particularly well balanced and the teams were to go in at the break level on five points each. Roslea however had squandered a penalty shot, the kick fired wide and this failure was eventually to cost them dear.

Marksmen for Roslea included Ryan McCormack, Seamus Quigley and Ruairi McGuinness.

Silverbridge did have a greater share of the play in the second half and they were to steadily add to their points total but they were never to pull themselves into anything which could be construed as a comfortable position.

Kevin Cosgrove who had a fine game overall for Roslea punched home a goal on forty minutes and ten minutes later he rammed home a confident shot for his second strike of the afternoon.

With the full time whistle beckoning, Roslea had crept a point in front but Silverbridge tied the match up with a splendid score from a free and the Armagh side claimed the resulting kick out and floated over the winning score from far outfield.

For Roslea, Brendan McKenna and Shane McMahon were two solid figures in defence, Kevin Cosgrove was a presence in the middle of the park while Ryan McCormack and Peter Lynch were best up front.
