Fermanagh Suffolk breeder Gary Beacom has ended the summer show and sale season on a high by claiming the reserve championship at the Elite Female Show and Sale at the Moira Pedigree Sales Arena.
Success in the show arena for the Lakeview flock owner was also reflected in the sale ring when the outstanding Barnogue Back in Business exhibit attracted huge interest before being knocked down for top price on the night of 850gns.
Beacom brought forward an exceptional offering of 20 females that met with a 100 per cent clearance. The Fermanagh breeder also received 620 gns for a daughter of Glenhead the McCoy, in-lamb to Strathisla Lift the Stars, and was paid 500 gns on three occasions for Back in Business and McCoy daughters.
SILVERWARE
All four gimmers found a new home among the Tyrone bushes with the Ecclesgreen flock of Keith Telford, Omagh.
The Lakeview flock owner also claimed a glittering array of silverware at the Suffolk Sheep Society's (NI Branch) annual bash held in the Armagh City Hotel recently.
The Fermanagh breeder made a number of trips to the stage to collect the Kinbally Cup, Desks International Perpetual Bowl, Suffolk Sheep Society Branch Trophy, Chestnutt Animal Feeds Cup, McCaughan Animal Health Show Team of the Year prize and Nelson Craig Memorial Perpetual Challenge Cup.
