Fermanagh College BTEC performing arts students will be "Working" (literally) at Willie Ramblers on Forthill Street, Enniskillen on Tuesday, 5th, 6th and 7th June next.
First year BTEC Performing Arts students from Fermanagh College are currently preparing their end of year performance.
They have selected a contemporary American musical, "Working" to show off their talents to a local audience and have been working on the show for the last six weeks.
"Working" is based on the book of the same name which chronicles a day in the life of 26 average US citizens. The characters include an ironworker, a waitress, a stone mason, a trucker, a housewife, a United Parcel Service" UPS delivery man, a teacher, and a retiree. All of their monologues, in which they describe their daily routines and discuss their hopes and dreams, are true stories taken from interviews with actual workers. Monologues are interspersed with songs and dance routines, all based on the theme of the lives of ordinary working people.
"Working" is directed by Frank McHugh, with Jeanne Munroe, the resident American, as Musical Director. Lynett Maguire, recently qualified from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance is Choreographer for the show.
