A Tempo mother's determination to help her daughter who has learning disabilities, achieve a better quality of life, has resulted in her bringing an innovative new treatment to Fermanagh.
Caroline Bogue's 10-year-old daughter was diagnosed with autism five years ago and, since that time, Caroline has spent hours researching the condition and trying to find treatments for it.
Last year, Caroline discovered the 'Raviv Method' and over the winter months she has completed training in delivering the programme and is now a practitioner of the treatment.
Caroline explains, "The Raviv Method is quickly becoming known as one of the most exciting novel neuro-cognitive approaches to developing and correcting learning and attention skills, in both children and adults."
For her own daughter, Caroline has implemented a programme that involves a daily 20-minute exercise. It requires the young girl to walk in a figure of eight, while concentrating on the television, and already Caroline has noticed major improvements in her daughter's behaviour and attention span.
While the 'Raviv Method' does not offer complete relief from autism, some people with other conditions, such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, have found themselves overcoming their disability completely after using the 'Raviv Method'.
Caroline said, "Using the latest theoretical developments in the cognitive sciences, a team from Israel has spent over five years pioneering this advanced program. The method is focused, rapid, and works amazingly well in addressing learning skills and specific learning difficulties."
