Kalem Hanley, from Enniskillen loves to compete.
He loves the thrill and challenge of sport and, judging from the ever growing repertoire of sports that he participates in, his future seems to be one full of sporting endeavour and success.
Indeed, there is no sign of Kalem cutting back on his hectic sporting schedule.
Recently, he was nominated for a 'Spirit of Sport' honour through the Lady Taverns Association with the result that he picked up an award and was placed third in Northern Ireland in his category.
Last Friday, Kalem got all dressed up for the glittering awards' ceremony in the Hilton Hotel in Belfast.
There he received his trophy and a cheque and got the opportunity to meet and mingle with stars like Wendy Richards (aka Pauline Fowler), Candy Divine and May McFettridge.
Among the many sports that Kalem participates are basketball, golf, Gaelic football, hurley, soccer, athletics and horse riding.
His parents, Angela and Oliver are obviously very proud of their sporting son;
"He is a real treat to watch and a good role model for every child with a learning difficulty/disability.
He has made us as parents and his brother and sister very proud and very happy," Oliver stated.
He singled out Roisin Henry from Disability Sports N.I who, he explained, had first told them about these awards and got the nomination forms for Kalem.
