Remembering Drumharvey


The talented Drumharvey Pipe Band is gearing up to celebrate a mammoth year in its history.

Based on the outskirts of Irvinestown the Band is due to due to mark its 75th Anniversary in 2009, and to make the occasion memorable they need your help.

Anyone with old pictures of the Band are being urged to donate them to help construct a visual history of the changes over this period of time, and to be used in a book to mark the occasion.

Similarly, the organisers are keen to hear from ex-members of the band or their families who are willing to share their memories.

Drumharvey Pipe Band was formed in 1934. The band derived from Drumharvey Loyal Orange Lodge 159 whose members at that time expressed a desire to have their own marching band to accompany them at parades. The Band continues to lead Drumharvey Lodge today as well as Necarne Royal Black Preceptory at Loyal Order Parades. The Band is a regular participant at
