Leading innovators Goodyear tyres is searching for some of the UK's most typical motorists to become official tyre testers as well as national commentators on road safety issues.
The selected drivers will see their cars fitted with complimentary sets of Goodyear's wet weather specialist HydraGrip tyre ahead of the notorious 'April showers' and will be asked to pen consumer reviews for advice website www.drivehomesafely.co.uk.
Goodyear is hoping to find a trio of road users that face different challenges and stresses during the day, from a rush hour driver who is responsible for carrying young passengers to and from school, to executives covering thousands of motorway miles each year.
These motorists will then join Goodyear experts on a road safety forum, and be asked for their thoughts and comments on new legislation and other issues facing modern drivers.
Goodyear communications manager James Bailey believes that forming the panel of tyre testers and road commentators will provide a great service to safety conscious road users.
He said:
"We wanted to find some people from typical driver groups across the UK notably someone who copes with the road pressures and responsibility of the school run, a driver that takes the strain of many varying motorway conditions of a daily basis and also someone who looks after others for a living, such as a taxi driver.
"Often tyre tests can be quite technical and not written about the issues that people really relate to, so we want these groups to review the tyres themselves and reference the thought and feelings that they face on the road each day.
"That led to the idea of having a road safety forum on our website with some consumer commentators who could give thoughts and feedback on a range of motoring issues as they arise giving visitors to the site access to a relevant industry expert from Goodyear and also some everyday drivers who are really affected.
"We may also give the panel our new tyres before they come onto their market and ask them to do their own tyre reviews for our launches."Anyone interested in becoming one of Goodyear's official tyre and road safety reviewers can download an entry form www.mygoodyear.co.uk
