The sparkling achievement of Ballinamallard's Judith Wilson, who is the current Miss Northern Ireland was recognised at a Chairman's Reception held in her honour in the Townhall in Enniskillen this week.
Judith took the title in June this year and, since then she has promoted Fermanagh in her new role as ambassador.
The reception was hosted by the Chairman of Fermanagh District Council, Thomas O'Reilly.
He recalled: "Judith was crowned Miss Northern Ireland in June at a glittering awards' ceremony at Belfast's Europa Hotel. Among the 24 finalists were two Fermanagh representatives, Judith and Jill Wallace, from Florencecourt, who finished in the top seven.
"Judith is the daughter of Ingrid Logan and the late Peter Wilson and comes from Ballinamallard. I know that her mum and Hamish, and the family circle have all been a great support to Judith through this marvellous adventure."
The Chairman also recalled Miss Northern Ireland's earlier days: "Judith is a former pupil of the Collegiate Grammar School, she then studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated in June 2007. She has been working as a music teacher. This will be a very busy year for Judith when her duties will take her to many, many events and ceremonies.
"The highlight of the year will undoubtedly be the Miss World competition which this year is being held in the Johannesburg," he explained.
"We are delighted', he said, "that Judith has been chosen to represent Northern Ireland at this event. She is an excellent ambassador for Fermanagh. This will be a lifetime opportunity for Judith and we know that she will represent us very well. We wish her every success for the Miss World competition."
