Balcas Timber Limited, with an address at Laragh, Enniskillen has appeared before a recent sitting on Fermanagh Magistrates Court on three health and safety related charges.
Representing the company in court was David Kidney as a preliminary enquiry into the case against the company was held.
Balcas is charged that on 16th March 2006 it failed to ensure the health and safety of employees in that it failed to provide a safe system of work without risk and it failed to provide information, training and supervision as necessary to protect the health and safety of employees.
Balcas is also charged, on 16th March 2006, with failing to provide employees with information about risks to their health and safety.
The third charge faced by the company related to Balcas failing to ensure employees were provided with adequate health and safety training.
District Judge Liam McNally agreed with the prosecution and said he believed there was a prima facia case for the company to answer. The company was represented by barrister Ian Turkington.
Balcas were arraigned to appear before Omagh Crown Court on 2nd December.
