Glenfarne revival

The legendary Ballroom of Romance in Glenfarne is to undergo a 1m euro facelift and, to pay for the job, Glenfarne Community Association have set out an ambitious programme of dances, from old tyme to sets to bands between now and May.

The ballroom where many couples met celebrates its 75th birthday next year, and the organisers have done its memory proud with the quality of their bookings.

'Country Cousins' get the ball rolling next Sunday, 16th November with old tyme, from 9 o'clock until 11.30. The admission includes tea.

Then on Monday, 24th November, there is the second annual tribute to the late Dano Hara, with dancing to Mick Flavin and his Band and, making a guest appearance, The JCB Man himself, Seamus Moore. The programme then resumes in mid-December.
