This is an excellent site for teachers, parents, guardians and kids alike, it is a brilliant educational resource for all things medieval.

It follows the history of Medieval Britain from 800 AD - 1499 AD, from Alfred the Great, through the Norman Conquest to the start of the Tudor period. Timeref.org consists of timelines, biographies, photographs, maps and 3D CGI building reconstructions.

The maps show the locations of castles, abbeys and cathedrals while the 3D reconstructions enable you to walk around them and simulate how they would have stood during that era.

In order to view the 3D reconstructions you will need to download a VRML plug-in, which is a free, and available from Parallel Graphics, follow the links provided.

Every person and building on this site has its own timeline and links to related subjects either within timeref.org or to other related websites.

The layout of this site is not the best however the content is second to none and well worth looking at.
