Seconds are off to a great start

ENNISKILLEN II ................. 27

OMAGH II .......................... 15

Enniskillen Seconds got their campaign off to a great start with victory in the first game. Many of the players had benefited from their involvement with the First XV squad during pre-season, and confidence was high.

'Skins outscored their visitors by four tries to two, the scores coming from Felix Quigley, Mark Ross, Emmett McFadden and Rory Ferguson. Ruairi Fee added two conversions and a penalty, to complete the scoring.

The fact that three of the tries came from the backline is an indication of how the game went. The battle up front was intense, something that is normal when facing an Omagh side, but Enniskillen had a distinct edge in the backs, and indeed the match would have been wrapped up by half-time had all their chances been taken.

As it was, Omagh clawed their way back into the game in the second half, but a great final quarter saw Enniskillen home safely.
