Hundreds of pupils from schools across the Western Education and Library Board area have provided a magical celebration of music in venues throughout the Western area over the past few weeks. The 'Music Mayfest' is organised by the Board's Music Service to showcase the talents and developments of nearly 4,000 young people who are involved in instrumental tuition.
Speaking at the celebration event in St Michael's College, Enniskillen, Dónal Doherty, the Head of the Music Service, paid tribute to the commitment and talents of the young musicians, and praised the parents and schools for their encouragement and support, and the Board's music staff for their professionalism and dedication.
He reported that almost 4,000 pupils were now involved in instrumental tuition in the Western Board area.
