This year's annual Belleek & Mulleek Traditional Music Festival runs from this Friday,15th to 17th of June, attracting some of the finest exponents around.
One of them, Kevin Loughlin, native son and traditional music maestro, said the festival served as an opportunity to show-case the best available talents in the traditional music sphere in Ireland.
More than 30 musicians have confirmed they are coming, ranging from Larrry Gavin and Michael O'Rourke from the traditional stronghold of County Clare to the gifted Annette Owens who is amongst an exceptional selection of musicians from the home county of Fermanagh.
The West will also be very ably represented with the artistic John G. Walsh from (Galway), and the outstanding Pauraic Kerins from the Yeats County.
On Sunday afternoon (3pm), in the Carlton Hotel, Ronan Regan from County Galway will head up a dynamic display of "sean-nós" dancing at the "Adult Sean-Nós Dance Workshop" while Sunday evening will be wind-down time with impromptu sessions the order of the day.
"This is a very much a community festival", one of the organising committee explained. "It is being sponsored solely by local contribution. The organising committee are very grateful for the very generous support of local business, especially the catering sector and for the excellent response to the fund-raiser now in circulation".
The very beautiful prizes for the fun-raiser have been very generously donated by the local Belleek Pottery Ltd.
