A small group of Lakelanders swimmers took part in the annual Bridgestone Gala run by Alliance Swimming Club at the Grove Complex in Belfast.
As this is an open competition with no age groupings, it meant that each event was keenly contested by many of Ulster's top swimmers.
Yet again, Chelsey Wilson proved her quality by winning three gold medals in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle. She was beaten narrowly into second place in a very close finish in the 200m freestyle.
Lucy Parkinson had success in winning a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke and bronze in both the 50m and 200m breaststroke. She also achieved a personal best time to finish sixth overall in the 200m freestyle.
Rachel and Rebecca Gormley have been showing good form all season by swimming personal best times in every event, with their most significant improvements being in the 200m and 400m freestyle.
Lakelanders' youngest swimmer at the event, 13-year-old Courtney Wilson, proved that she has the quality to emulate her older sister by finishing sixth in the 100m backstroke and seventh in the 50m backstroke. This was a great achievement as most of the other swimmers were several years older than Courtney.
