Visitors to Tully Castle will be invited to step back in time next week (Saturday 23 June), as costumed characters reveal ancient displays and historic tales depicting life in the 17th Century.
Organised by Environment and Heritage Service (EHS), the event offers attractions for families and history enthusiasts alike - including striking weaponry displays of swords, pole arms, muskets and armour.
EHS Educator Ivan Minnis outlined some of the additional attractions:
"People will have the opportunity to savour a taste of life in Tully Castle between 1615 and 1641 at this unique event...
"Characters in full costume will provide an insight to 17th Century life in the castle, presenting displays of favourite dishes of the day with a colourful selection of food and spices. In addition to tours of the site, children will also have the chance to try on ancient helmets and breastplates."
The event will run from 11am-4pm and admission is free.
The previous Saturday (16 June), period musicians in full costume will entertain Castle visitors with musical melodies of the era.
