Fermanagh Gardening Society held its 42nd Annual Daffodil and Spring Flower Show in St Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen on Saturday.
Its spokesman, Sam Robinson reported that entries in all classes were increased on previous years. "The quality of blooms was excellent', he said, " and great credit must be given to the exhibitors as this has been a most difficult year. In the week of the show we had hail showers, strong winds and frost, all of which added greatly to the difficulties of the local growers".
George Wilson, an exhibitor from Lisburn, won most of the major classes with a very fine selection of blooms.
There was a queue for the opening of the plant stall and these sold very quickly, an indication of the quality of the plants which had all been provided by the members.
Of course no event is complete without a cup of tea and, once again the ladies excelled.
There had been a lot of preparation and hard work, but everyone agreed this was worthwhile as the Show was a great success.
