Bail for man who robbed off-licence

An Enniskillen man who robbed an off-licence in Queen Street, Enniskillen has been granted bail at Fermanagh Magistrates Court.

Martin Edward Dunlop (45) from Carnmore Lodge in the town was granted bail on Monday to reside at his sister's address in the town.

Dunlop is charged with robbing Winemarket on Queen Street of goods valued at £132.42. He is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, at Head Street in the town.

The court heard the defendant is an alcoholic by his own admission.

Despite police submissions that there was a risk of his further offending, the Resident Magistrate, Liam McNally granted bail with conditions that the defendant does not enter licensed premises and that he observe a curfew between 9.00pm and 8.00am.

The defendant was warned by Mr McNally that if he committed any further offences while under the influence of alcohol he would be returned to custody where he would remain until his trial.
