A Fermanagh teenager has been convicted of driving at 127 miles per hour while he was a restricted driver.
Neil Walmsey (18) of Mullans, Boa Island Road, Kesh was 82mph over the 45mph limit for an R-driver on the M1 motorway close to Dungannon on December 4 last year.
He was also convicted of driving without insurance, failing to display R-plates and obstructing police by giving false details.
The teenager claimed he was rushing to visit his mother who was in hospital in Belfast.
There were four passengers in the high speed car.
The RM John Meehan said the speed recorded was the highest he had encountered during his time on the bench.
A defence lawyer told the court Walmsey had been travelling with friends when he received a call that his mother had undergone surgery in a Belfast hospital.
He then took the chance to drive and was subsequently signalled to stop by police.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £550.
