Tempo Community Centre continues to attract big name acts this week as it prepares to host none other than Bagatelle, one of Ireland's most successful musical supergroups.
The band will play from 11.30pm next Friday, 6th July, with doors opening at 10.00pm.
Bagatelle became an overnight success with the release of 'Summer in Dublin' in 1978. The song captured the heart of the nation and catapulted the band to international fame. From there the band toured successfully throughout the US, Canada, the UK and back home in Ireland creating several Gold and Platinum hits along the way.
2006 seen the release of a new album entitled 'The Irish Collection' including a fresh 'Summer In Dublin' remix by three of the original band members, Liam Reilly, Ken Doyle and John O'Brien. Songs penned by Liam Reilly including 'Streets Of New York', 'Flight of Earls' 'Bainbridge Avenue', 'Boston Rose' and 'Going Back To Ireland' also appeared on the album.
Bagatelle, continue to play to packed houses, with record selling crowds at their live gigs. In doing so, they have shared the stage with artists including Bob Marley, Don McLean, and Jose Feliciano. They have had albums produced by Phil Coulter and the late great Gus Dudgeon, who also produced for the likes of David Bowie and Elton John. They appeared on the famous 'Self Aid' concert in the mid 80's with U2 and Van Morrison and gave sell-out concerts of their own at The RDS, Dublin.
Incorporating a melodic rock sound with a strong lyric content, Bagatelle have captured a slice of classic rock history which still appeals, and comes with certainty to Tempo next Friday night.
