Police warning follows break-ins


Police are investigating a possible link between a number of thefts in the county during the last week. They have also urged people to be careful when leaving their homes or vehicles alone.

On Tuesday, 19th June, a house in Wheathill, Florencecourt, was broken into and a small amount of money was taken. Another burglary reported on the same day, although this is believed to have taken place on Thursday,14th involved a robbery at Macken, Enniskillen. A house was entered and jewellery and electrical equipment was taken.

On Thursday last, 21st June, a car was broken into at Muckross Bay, on the Shore Road out of Enniskillen and two mobile and a tag watch were taken. On the same day a vehicle was broken into in Castcaldwell and a pair of sunglasses were removed.

Police believe that at some time between the 20th and the 21st, a black brief case and a brown wallet were stolen from Meadow Vale in Enniskillen, and, on Sunday last, 24th June, a vehicle was also broken into Claddagh Glen, Florencecourt, and a mobile phone was taken.

Also on Sunday last, a mobile phone was taken from a hand-bag in the boot of a car parked at Florencecourt House, and a car parked at the Marble Arch Caves Scenic Loop was broken into and credit cards and car keys were removed.

Also on Sunday, a resident's car parked over night at the Hotel Carlton in Belleek, had a bag of clothing removed. Anyone with any information with regard to any of these thefts is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
