Police renew appeal for witnesses


Police in Fermanagh have renewed their appeal for information about a recent serious traffic collision as a result of which a 65-year-old man remains critically ill in hospital.

The crash occurred near Belleek shortly before 2pm on Sunday, September 2. It involved an Isuzu Trooper and a Fiat Punto and happened about three miles on the Fermanagh side of Belleek.

Three people were taken to Erne Hospital. The casualties were the 65-year old man, a woman aged 67, who had been in the Fiat, and a man aged 37, who was in the Trooper.

All the parties are from County Meath. The older man was later transferred by helicopter to hospital in Belfast.

Anyone who saw the collision or the vehicles beforehand is asked to contact police. The number to call with any information is 0845 600 8000.
