A 21-year-old Dublin man has been remanded in custody to appear again by video link on the 24th September in connection with a grievous bodily harm charge following a recent sitting of Fermanagh Magistrate's Court.
Conor Beacom, with an address at Kilmahuddrick Lawns, Dublin, faces the charge of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on John Drumm on Sunday last, 16th September.
Police Constable Tom Crozier appearing in Court said he believed he could connect the accused to the charge before the Court.
Motorist drove without insurance
A 22-year-old Enniskillen woman faces a £270 fine and has had six penalty points endorsed on her licence for a number of motoring offences following a recent sitting of Fermanagh Magistrate's Court.
Resident Magistrate Bonita Boyd heard how at approximately 5.00pm on the 5th February, the defendant, Kim Quah from Head Street was observed driving a Rover on the Wellington Road, Enniskillen. She was stopped and didn't produce any licence or insurance documents.
The defendant was spoken to at Forthill Street at a later stage where she told PSNI officers she had nothing to produce. She said the documents were in her car but she didn't know where her car was parked.
For driving without insurance, Ms Boyd imposed a £200 fine and endorsed six penalty points. For driving without a licence, she imposed a £70 fine.
Returned to Crown Court
A 37-year-old Lisnaskea woman has appeared before a recent sitting of Fermanagh Magistrates Court for the purposes of a Preliminary Enquiry.
Appearing before Resident Magistrate Bonita Boyd, Elaine Kathleen Sayers from Moorlough Road faced the charge that on the 17th February this year with the intention to pervert the course of justice she did an act which had a tendency to pervert the course of justice namely that she tendered to the Crown Court two character references which were false contrary to common law. She is to due to be returned for trial in Omagh Crown Court on the 10th October.
Driver's licence was back home
A 23-year-old Lithuanian man faces a £350 fine and has had six penalty points endorsed n his licence for a number of motoring offences following a recent sitting of Fermanagh Magistrates Court.
Resident Magistrate Bonita Boyd heard how at approximately 11.05am on Monday, 11th June this year, Justas Karosas with an address at Tempo Road, Agharainey, was driving a Vauxhall Astra in Enniskillen when he was stopped by police and found to be without a licence, insurance and a vehicle test certificate.
The vehicle test certificate had expired and when asked about insurance the defendant told the officers there was none. He was arrested for the offences before the Court.
Self-represented in Court, the defendant insisted he had a licence but that it was currently in Lithuania. He said he worked in Balcas and when asked for an explanation for the offences he said : 'I was driving because I needed to get to the job'.
For failing to produce a licence Ms Boyd imposed a £70 fine. For having no insurance she imposed a £200 fine and six penalty points. For having no vehicle test certificate, she imposed a £70 fine.
Man urinated in front of Police officers
A 20-year-old Enniskillen man who used indecent behaviour in a public place has been fined £150 following a recent sitting of Fermanagh Magistrate's Court.
Resident Magistrate Bonita Boyd heard how at approximately 8.15pm on Saturday, 26th May this year, police stopped a Saxo vehicle n Coleshill Park, Enniskillen. The rear seat passenger, the defendant, Ian James Doogan from Station Road got out of the vehicle and urinated in public, directly in front of police.
He was brought to Enniskillen Police Station and was later brought home.
Defending, Aubrey Murray told the Court that his client had taken a considerable amount of alcohol prior to the incident and had been affected both physically and mentally.
He submitted that Doogan was ashamed of his behaviour on the date in question. He said he wished to convey his apologies to the officers concerned.
Mr Murray said his client had been extremely foolish, considering he already had previous convictions but he submitted that of late he had been keeping his nose clean.
He asked the RM to consider the young man's early plea. Ms Boyd imposed a £150 fine for the offence.
