Greg Turley Bursary Scheme to showcase county's talent


The range of talent in the county was highlighted recently with awards announced by the Greg Turley Bursary Scheme.

Award recipients from Ballinamallard, Derrygonnelly and Enniskillen received support, to support the development of their talents in their chosen fields of motorcycling, athletics, music and drama.

Promising young motorcyclist Josh Elliott, four time Irish National Minimoto Champion from Ballinamallard, and now competing all over Europe in the 'Red Bull Rookies' Moto GP Cup, which is part of the world championship, received an award to help with travel costs. Talented Collegiate student Nadine Gilmore, who has already shown her talent on the stage in Fermanagh and on television, received an award to support her participation in Youth Music Theatre UK in Scotland this summer. Kieran Leonard a student at St Michaels College and member of the Ulster Youth Orchestra received a bursary to support his participation in the World Youth Classical Festival in Berlin. Caolan McBrien, three times Irish title holder and with six Ulster gold medals received a bursary to support his ongoing development in Athletics at a national level. 'We are delighted to support Josh, Nadine, Kiernan and Caolan with these awards. They are all fantastic young people, great ambassadors for County Fermanagh and we are delighted we can support each of them with a Greg Turley Bursary Award,' outlined Kathleen Richey on behalf of the Greg Turley Awards Scheme.
