Judith through to Miss Northern Ireland Final

Judith Wilson, from Enniskillen, who qualified for the Miss Northern Ireland contest from the Omagh heat, along with Nicola Curran from Lisnaskea.

Twenty-three-year-old Judith Wilson from Ballinamallard has this week reached the prestigious Miss Northern Ireland Final.

Judith, a grand-daughter of Joan and the late Senator Gordon Wilson, fought off competition from nine other girls to succeed in the Miss Omagh heat held in Benedicts Bar and Restaurant on Saturday night. She had previously won the Miss Down Royal heat in Lisburn last year.

The former Enniskillen Collegiate student is currently teaching music in Derry. She also does part-time modelling work for Alison Campbell Modelling Agency.

"I enjoyed it so much last year and met so many friends that I decided why not go again this year. Last year I was a nervous wreck on the night so this year I just plan to go with the flow. It is always a great night to enjoy with family and friends as well."

Judith now joins Victoria Hawe and a host of other contestants at a gala ceremony to be held in the Europa Hotel on Monday, 16th June where the winner is set to receive thousands of pounds worth of prizes, including an all expenses paid trip to the Miss World Final in Ukraine later this year.

Former Miss Northern Ireland Mary McCartney from Enniskillen was on the judging panel at the Omagh heat along with current Miss Northern Ireland Melissa Patton, Alison Campbell, and a representative from Junction One.
