Following the success of 'If I lost you for good' last year, Florencecourt based band 'The Bracken Brothers' are back this month with the release of their eagerly anticipated new CD single.
'Exactly the girl I'm looking for' has already received great airplay and has been ranked the sixth most requested song on two Donegal based radio stations in recent months.
A country rock type song written by George Bracken, the new single is similar in style to work from modern country artists such as Dwight Yoakam, The Derailers and Brad Paisley.
The catchy number is accompanied by a tender B-side ballad track 'What you mean to me' which was written by Edward Bracken for his wife Yvonne after they got married two years ago.
Many will be familiar with Edward who worked in Enniskillen Post Office for 11 years before making the move to his current job location in Home, Field and Stream.
The 28-year-old handles lead and steel guitars in the band while his 26-year-old brother George plays keyboards and harmony vocals.
The brothers are joined on both songs by Alec and Stewart McKeown from local indie rock band 'I'm Not Maggie' on bass guitar and tambourine respectively.
The highlight of the Bracken Brothers career to date has being asked by country music legend, the late, Buck Owens to perform with him at his Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California, along with his Buckaroos band on six occasions. Buck also requested that the band perform one of the songs they wrote 'Gotta get you outta my head' and encouraged them to keep up their song-writing.
