Councillor Bert Johnston has clarified comments attributed to him in an article in the Fermanagh Herald 30 April 2008.
In the article, Jim Allister, leader of the Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) claimed Mr Johnston had welcomed the appointment of Sean Lynch to the Fermanagh District Policing Partnership, as someone who could bring 'individual experience' to the role of over-seeing the work of the police. Councillor Johnston has said he has never specifically welcomed Sean Lynch to the DPP nor commented on his 'individual experience'.
