Senior Citizens urged to travel for free

Absolutely nothing... zero... zilch... nada...

That's how much Fermanagh Senior Citizens could be paying for public transport if they are aged 65 or over and have obtained their Translink Senior Smartpass, entitling them to travel across Ireland completely free of charge.

With over 200,000 seniors eligible for their Smartpass, Translink is urging them to get smart, get on board and get more out of life! With public transport making access easy to a whole host of destinations, Translink is advising seniors that they could be missing out on a lot of fun by not obtaining, or not using, their free travel Smartpass.

"We want to make sure that everyone eligible for their Senior Smartpass applies for it – and then uses it to the maximum," says Ciaran Rogan, Translink Marketing Executive. "The benefits are huge and in some cases can even be life-changing, as customers find themselves able to use our integrated and accessible bus and rail services to travel extensively, without worrying about cost. Ultimately, free travel helps many seniors to get much more out of their life, whether making day to day activities easier or opening them up to new experiences through travel."

For information on how to apply for a Translink Senior Smartpass contact Translink on (028) 9066 6630 or www.translink.co.uk
