Irvinestown runner Helen Stockdale is warming up this week as she takes to the road tomorrow (Thursday) to run the Fermanagh leg of the six marathon challenge which is running across Northern Ireland all this week.
Rev Robert Robb and Peter Ferris, MBE are aiming to run six marathons in six days in the six counties of Northern Ireland. Helen will be joining them for the Fermanagh marathon. The unique challenge began on Monday, when the two runners took part, as usual, in the Belfast Marathon,
These two men are intending to run another five marathons this week. Twenty-four hours later, they ran the 26.2 miles in Downpatrick in County Down. On Wednesday they travelled to Armagh to complete their third marathon. Thursday will see them running round the scenic shores of Lough Erne in Enniskillen, before moving on to Omagh on the Friday for the penultimate marathon. On Saturday the final marathon will take place the duo are hoping to raise at least £6,666.66 for their two chosen charities The Alzheimer's Society and Macmillan Cancer Support.
