I would like to make a brief appeal to your readers on behalf of the Cardinal Tomás Ó Fiaich Memorial Library and Archive. Following a highly successful exhibition in 2007 recalling the story of Gaelic games in County Armagh, the Library's education and outreach programme supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund will be mounting an exhibition and a series of supporting events in 2008-09 telling the story of Gaelic games in the north.
If you have in your possession any items such as old (1970s or before) football boots, footballs, playing gear, jerseys, hurls, sliotars, helmets, photographs, flags, medals, trophies or minute books that the library might be able to borrow for the duration of the exhibition I would be very pleased to hear from you.
You can be assured that your material will be maintained and secured to the highest possible level and returned to you in the condition that we receive it.
I look forward, with your help, to being able to mount a fitting celebration of this vital aspect of our sporting and cultural heritage.
