Pauline Gilmartin from Belleek has taken up employment as Cultural Heritage Coordinator at the Share Centre, Lisnaskea to run a new project until September 2008.
The Centre in Lisnaskea has been awarded £25,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the new project, SHARING Cultural Heritage.
It is aimed at 13 to 25 year olds, with and without disability and it will use the arts as a medium for exploring the cultural heritage of Fermanagh, as Pauline explained.
"The project will allow young people to research heritage and culture and creatively present their own interpretations. Possible areas of work will include dance, drama and film making to tell a story of Fermanagh's cultural heritage".
Majella Flanagan, the Share Arts Coordinator explained, " is an area rich in natural and human history, the evidence of which is around nearly every corner. It is exciting to look at this evidence as it tells us about Fermanagh in years gone past, how did people live, what did they do, what did the county look like, are we very different today?
Majella said the Share Arts was very pleased to be involved in such an exciting initiative.
