A 31-year-old Enniskillen man faces a £450 fine and has had six penalty points endorsed on his licence after he pleaded guilty to a number of motoring offences.
The Resident Magistrate at Fermanagh Magistrates Court, Liam McNally heard how at approximately 5.00pm on Thursday, 15th February, police were called to the scene of a minor two vehicle road traffic collision on the Boa Island Road, Kesh involving a van and a blue Mondeo.
Evidence was given that the defendant, Aidan William McGee from Scarden Road, Garvary pulled out onto the Main Road believing it to be clear wen he saw the van. There was contact and he left the scene on foot. He later admitted to having no insurance and no MOT certificate. He said he panicked and left the scene.
Defending, Jane Armstrong told the court that her client had a Republic of Ireland driver's licence. He had bought the car two weeks prior to the collision with the intention of having the insurance transferred. She said he was a 31-year-old farmer with a clear record.
