AUGHADRUMSEE

Congratulations to Corranny PS girls' team and mentors who reached the Mini 7 final at Lissan last week. The girls displayed a superb skill and determination all day and were only pipped to the title by one point by Kinawley. Well done, girls! You did your school and club proud. The U-16 girls played Derrylin away last week. After a great first half, the girls led at half-time only for the home team to produce a strong come-back in the second half. Keep up the effort girls and the results will come. The U-14 league is due to begin next Monday, so all girls should be training on Thursday at 7pm.

The senior team travelled to Irvinestown last Friday and, despite an improved display, lost out to the home side 3-9 to 0-8. Best wishes go to Peter Phair who was injured during the game.

The junior team defeated Derrygonnelly on Saturday evening at home 1-13 to 1-11. This was a good win with Paul Faux and Ciaran Flynn, solid in defence, Daryl Boyle notching the goal and Darren Durnian recording some neat points. Karl Woods was excellent in goals, pulling off some top drawer saves. The juniors travel to Derrylin on Saturday.

There will be a committee meeting tonight, Wednesday, 14th May at 9.00 pm. The club host a minor play-off between Newtown and Brookeboro tonight at 7.30 pm, so help is needed to cater for this fixture. The minor boys face Coa in the play-off. This game will take place in the first week of June. All minors should attend training on Tuesday and Friday. The U-14s were due to play Erne Gaels at home last night and make the trip to Irvinestown next Tuesday. The bus will leave the shop at 6pm. This is the last round of games before the play-offs.

Anyone requiring tickets for the Fermanagh/Monaghan game should inform Hugh immediately. It is not known what our allocation will be but paid-up members will be given first preference.

NEWTOWNBUTLER

Last weekend saw our senior go down to Devenish at home, the scoreline being Newtownbutler 9 points Devenish 10 points. On the night Frank Mulligan was Newtown's main threat in the forward line, in the middle Ryan Carson was always on the move. And in the backline Clive Fitzpatrick had a steady game. This is the last game now till after the Fermanagh match has been played. So it's back to training tonight and Friday at 7.45pm.

Last Wednesday our minors grabbed themselves a place in a semi final playoff when they played Teemore. They had a great win with scoreline of Newtownbutler 0-17, Teemore 1-7. Now they take on Brookeboro on Wednesday night in Aughadrumsee.

The lotto has still to go, so the jackpot is ¤9,500. Last week's numbers were 1, 11, 19, 23. Club members wishing to purchase tickets for the all ticket Fermanagh v Monaghan SFC match please contact Paul on 67737162. The newly opened Brewster Park is sure to be a sell out, so place your orders by Sunday 18 May.
