TEMPO .........................0-11
LISNASKEA ....................3-6
At the interval of this game, home side Tempo who had been much the better side over the opening thirty minutes, were holding down a four point lead.
The Maguires were to shoot the next score after the resumption and with a struggling Lisnaskea making virtually no impression, a home victory was on the cards.
But inexplicably the leaders were to lose their way and for the remainder of the game the exchanges were to be increasingly dominated by an ever improving Lisnaskea. They pegged back the deficit with a stream of points and they then broke through for their second goal.
This score essentially closed out the result for the Emmetts and they duly killed off the weakening Tempo challenge with a third goal. It had been a remarkable turnaround but in the end Lisnaskea were thoroughly deserving of the success.
Of the three goals that they scored, perhaps the most important one was the score which they grabbed, very much against the run of play in the first half.
Tempo had begun the game on a brisk and lively note. They eased their way in for an encouraging salvo of early points, Ryan Keenan, Brian Jackson and Damian Kelly all finding the target. But that initial spree was to be eroded by a 'Skea goal in response.
Mark Little did neat approach work up the left flank, finally tossed over a short centre and Stephen Carters finished off from close range.
Lisnaskea were to have just one other score prior to the break, a Daniel Kille point, but the goal was crucial in keeping the chasing side in contention.
Tempo meanwhile continued to have the better of matters and they rounded off the half with a series of points, Frank Kelly, Ryan and Daryl Keenan all scoring and when Niall McElroy clipped over their ninth point five minutes into the second half, the home side were in comfortable territory.
But then it all went awry for them. A tactically reshuffled Lisnaskea began to force a presence in the middle of the park with Greg O'Donnell featuring and they slipped their way forward for two pointed frees from Daniel Kille and a single from Mark Little.
The alarm bells were now sounding in the Tempo camp and they were then dealt a massive blow when Little scooted his way in for a smartly taken goal which put his team ahead.
Tempo were now in disarray and the departure of centre half Declan Campbell due to injury compounded their difficulties.
Lisnaskea with a commanding grip in the middle of the park, were now the much more confident team and they powered their way to a matchwinning position.
Two more points were added and then came their third goal, Mark Little again the marksman and that jumped the Emmetts six points clear.
They were to conclude their revival with another point before a dismal Tempo managed their first score in well over twenty minutes, a point from Ryan Keenan but this was obviously nothing more than a consolation as was the late fisted effort that followed.
