Straightforward victory

UNDER-15'S

LISBELLAW .................................1

BALLINAMALLARD YOUTH ...........8

Ballinamallard had a straightforward victory away to Lisbellaw with Chris Sheridan opening the scoring in the opening five minutes.

This was quickly followed by goals from Andrew Farrell who reacted quickly after a Matthew McConkey shot was well saved and Lee Walker. Just before the break Strain headed home from a Sheridan cross.

After the break Sheridan headed against the post but the Mallards got their fifth following fine interchange play from John Currie and Johnny Hoy and Strain was on hand to score.

Lisbellaw pulled one back with an unstoppable shot from Stephen Miller from the edge of the penalty area but Hoy made it 6–1 after being put through by Currie and rounding the keeper. Ryan O'Sullivan from 20 yards and Strain, who completed his hat trick, finished the scoring.

UNDER-14

Easy for Mallards

Ballinamallard Youth easily accounted for a young Lisbellaw team on Monday evening.

Despite conceding early on the Lisbellaw team continued to fight right to the end.

There were goals for Johnny Courtney, Ross Espie, Jamie Kirkpatrick, Micheal Simpson, Adam Wallace, James Stevenson and Mark Glenn.

Rovers beaten

at home

On Saturday morning at the Castle Park Centre Lisnaskea Rovers under-14 side were beaten 5-2 by a sharper hungrier Enniskillen Rangers team.

The Rangers boys got of to a great start taking a two goal lead after about ten minutes, after some sharp counter attacking football and clinical finishing.

Rovers pulled a good goal back through Cathal Caufield after a good attack down the middle, with about five minutes to half time.

However the Rangers boys regained their two goal lead just before half time after a rasping goal from one of their strikers. The Rovers boys did improve after the break but two more rangers goals sealed the match, with Rovers getting a consolation goal through Cathal Caufield getting him a brace on the day

Rapid fire

goals see Fivemiletown through

Monday night played out a thriller at the Castle Park Centre, between Lisnaskea Rovers and Fivemiletown with great football, a penalty, one team storming into a big lead and the other providing a great comeback.

This was certainly a game of two halves, with Fivemiletown racing into a four goal lead within 20 minutes, they got a clear cut penalty within a minute of the game starting, which was crisply finished giving the Rovers keeper no chance. Worse was to follow for the Rovers with Fivemiletown dominating the play and three quick rapid fire goals giving the visitors a commanding lead, Rovers did pull a goal back before halftime giving them some belief, from a fine Tommy McMahon strike.

The halftime break spurred the Rovers boys into life, and five minutes into the second half Lisnaskea got their second goal of the night, with Kevin Curran releasing Tommy Mc Mahon who curled in a beautiful shot from the edge of the area to half the deficit. This started a period of complete dominance from the rovers boys who launched attack after attack, hitting the bar and post on three occasions, with only the brillance of the Fivemiletown keeper Cameron Crawford keeping the score at 4-2. With the Rovers pushing forward, Fivemiletown with their only shot on target in the second half increased their lead back to 5-2, but the Rovers did reply just before the end after a wicked free kick from Sean Keenan rocketed the Fivemiletown net to leave the final score 5-3, for a fantastic game of football. Best on the night for Rovers was Conor Mc Elgunn in defence.

UNDER-13

Mallarads make hard work of it

BALLINAMALLARD 'A' ..................2 ORCHARD FARM ..........................1

The homeside were made to work extremely hard for this win by a determined Orchard Farm outfit in an exciting and very enjoyable game of football on Friday evening. Ballinamallard started the better and were unlucky with a number of early chances where better finishing could have had them two goals up within the first ten minutes.

Their reward for the early pressure did arrive on 17 minutes when the lively Rory Flynn cut in from the right hand side and delivered a terrific cross into the box which was met first time by Patrick Reihill for the opening goal. Orchard Farm came into the game more after this and were beginning to create their own chances as half time approached. The second half saw both sides play flowing football with Orchard Farm's Jason Cluff seeing more of the ball and pushing forward for an equaliser and Ballinamallard's Jake Smith creating good opportunities up front.

The game changed ten minutes from time when Joshua Coulter was introduced for the homeside and immediately troubled the Orchard Farm defence with his strength and pace. Within a few minutes of his arrival Coulter had the second when he was put clean through against Farm's keeper Adam McDonald who made a brave save but could not deny Coulter retrieving the rebound from between two defenders and polishing off with a curling strike inside the far post. A tense finale was ensured with five minutes remaining when a good crossfield ball from the left found Lee McNulty outside the area who drove home first time from 20 yards out for the goal of the game.

A deserved win for the homeside with a fantastic display of tackling and closing down from Ballinamallard's Jordan Palmer earning him the man of the match.

Aiken's strike do the trick

NFC KESH .................................. 2

BALLINAMALLARD 'B' ..................0

A Niall Aiken strike in each half separated these two sides in a tight affair, to give NFC Kesh their third win on the bounce.

A weakened home side started brightly with some passing moves down the left leading to a series of Kesh corners. Kesh could have taken the lead mid-way through the half, with David Smith having his shot from the back post sail wide. his pressure continued throughout the first half, and it was the home side who took the lead.

The Ballinamallard defence allowed an in-swinging corner to bounce in the box, and Aiken reacted first to blast in from close range to make it 1-0 at the interval.

Before the break the visitors could have got back on level terms when two good corners were met by Mark Campbell, whose glancing headers went just wide.

With the home side having the best of play in the first period, Ballinamallard came out for the second half looking to take the game to Kesh.

The away side started to pile the pressure on Kesh, with Jack Milligan and Damhán Sanderson building up attacks from the middle, and for a five minute spell the home side struggled to get out of their half.

Winger Matthew Coulter also caused trouble with his speed down the right flank but Ballinamallard could never get the final ball for a good strike on goal.

However, the Kesh backline of Darragh McAlone and Mark Kelly were reducing their opponents to long range shots, and these were well dealt with by Lee Corry in the Kesh goal.

With Kesh running out of steam, they introduced new legs in the form of late arrivals Kyle Ogle and Ryan Dunlop. This eased the pressure on the home side, and with time running out and Ballinamallard getting stretched it was Aiken yet again on hand to smash in another loose ball in injury time for 2-0.

What Rovers

is it?

The Lisnaskea Rovers Under-13 boys have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime within one week.

Last Friday night they went to Ardstraw and came home convincing 6-0 winners after a comprehensive victory over a very good Ardstraw team.

The Rovers boys started brightly and within ten minutes they had taken the lead after some tenacious tackling by Joseph Williamson to win the ball back who released Kevin Curran who made no mistake with the finish.

Then before halftime after a good ball down the middle to free Adam McKenna, who with the keeper coming out cooly chiped the Ardstraw keeper, to double the lead.

After the break the Rovers boys completely dominated with David Teague and Adam Mc Kenna torturing the Ardstraw defence, and it was this partnership that ended the game as a contest with both players getting two quick goals. David Teague crossed from the byline for Adam Mc Kenna to slot home, and after a determined run David Teague drilled the ball home to make it 4-0. Sean Keenan scored a great individual goal after a determined run down the right hand side for five and with five minutes left Adam McKenna sealed the victory after volleying home to get his hat trick on the night and Rovers sixth. This was a great win for the Rovers, best on the night was David Teague in attack and Mark Kelly in defence. Big question is what Rovers team will turn out next week.
