From Boho to the USA

Well known Leitrim based dance group, 'The Emerald Revellers' are coming to Boho next week ahead of their summer trip to America.

Travelling to the US by invitation in July, they will be performing a series of eight shows in a range of venues.

But before all that, next Friday, 16th May, will see them perform in Boho Community Centre which promises to be a fun filled night of Irish music and dance entertainment.

The Emerald Revellers are no strangers to the Boho and Derrygonnely areas, having been part of the street entertainment at the annual Eddie Duffy Memorial Festival. But, as Clare McMorrow, Producer/Chorographer explained, the full show is a very different experience.

"It includes the whole range of Irish dance traditions from sean nós to modern with a cast of 20 dancers, and a series of interesting routines and exhibitions which cannot fail to delight, the music is energetic and lively and we have the a compliment of song and story telling. We are looking forward to performing in Boho, it's the first time for us and we know we will be among friends."

The Emerald Revellers show is performed in two parts. The first is a formal exhibition of Irish dance and music, the second a lively and fun portrayal of the wren boys and the dance master.

John Cox, from Boho development is helping organise the event: "I have seen the Revellers perform many times and it's always a great night's entertainment. We are delighted to have the them perform in Boho, anyone who knows the Revellers know that this is a real show, the members of this group love making music and dancing and that comes across in the performance."

Tickets are available for the Boho show from John Cox, or come along early and get your ticket at the door. Doors open at 8.30pm and the mineral bar on the night will be in support of the local playgroup.
