Settle into a good book

GOOD READS

If you love nothing more than settling in to a good book then this is the site for you. My husband has currently lost me to M.C Beaton's Agatha Raisin series, which I highly recommend by the way, and this is exactly what this site does. GoodReads.com is a website where you can catalogue your books online and recommend them to your friends. When a person adds a book to the site, all their friends can see what they thought of it and lets be honest, we are more likely to read a book that a friend has recommended.

This is a free website for book lovers and the site creators basically want you to imagine that it's a large library that you can browse through and see everyone's bookshelves, their reviews, and their ratings.

You will need to be registered in order to do this but signing up is simple — you just enter your name, email, and a password.

DIGITAL SPY

DigitalSpy.co.uk is another in a long line of celebrity show biz websites offering you entertainment, media and showbiz news. Site sections include Headlines, Forums, TV Guide, Entertainment, Showbiz, Music, Television, Movies, Soaps, Cult, Gaming, Reality TV, Apprentice, Gay Spy, Media, Tech Reviews and Quizzes.

Each section has sub-sections all of which are bursting with content just waiting to be read. In addition to what is usually expected with a site like this there is a surprisingly good forum for technology-related problems - a great place to sort out your broadband issues.

You will need to register to the site in order to make any posts to the forums. This is a busy site and you can see this from the amount of forum topics and threads and posts under each one.

Make sure you have more than a few minutes to browse through this site as before you know it a few hours have passed!!

ECO FOOT

This site is eye opening, as it invites you to take the Ecological Footprint Quiz. Have you ever wondered how much "nature" your lifestyle requires? If you answered yes, to this, then take the quiz and find out.

Based on your answers the quiz estimates how much productive land and water you need to support what you use and what you discard. Believe me this is quite an eye opener!

After answering 15 easy questions you'll be able to compare your Ecological Footprint to what other people use and to what is available on this planet. Quite shamefully, according to this quiz if everyone lived like me it would take three planets to sustain the amount used.

Yes, I hold my hands up to the fact that I am not doing all I should and after this I will make more of a concerted effort to reduce my ecological footprint.

This site is brought to you by the Earth Day network who aim to promote a healthy environment and sustainable world by spreading environmental awareness.
