The recent snowfall in Fermanagh has brought out a rogue element in some people, according to one angry motorist who contacted the 'Herald' to complain about a group of men targeting cars on the Sligo Road with large snowballs on Friday afternoon.
The woman explains a group of men, who she claims were aged between 18 and 25-years-old, were throwing 'massive snowballs, about the size of four or five footballs at cars as they passed'.
She continued: "Cars were coming in the road slowly because of the state of the driving conditions and this group were standing just past Mullan's shop. One man would run out in front of a car and when the driver got out, the rest of them would begin pelting with snowballs.
"They were all wearing scarfs up round their faces. Some of them with Rangers scarves and they seemed to be targeting Southern cars in particular," she continued.
"I phoned the police about lunchtime and was told they had a number of complaints but that all the officers were out dealing with other situations. I was back in the area at 8.30-9pm and these boys were still there."
The female caller, who was clearly frustrated, continued: "It was extremely frightening as the road was already so slippery, and the fact these were clearly grown-up men made it all the worse. It is dreadful carry on. I think their behaviour is just disgusting."
A police spokesperson explained they had received a number of complaints on Friday afternoon about youths throwing snowballs in the Coleshill area of Enniskillen. She explained that, in response to those calls, police had patrolled the area.
