Police in Fermanagh have received a letter, sent to the Fermanagh District Partnership, expressing one resident's public appreciation for the prompt response by the PSNI to an 'injury only' road traffic collision that occurred outside Lisbellaw Primary School on 30 April last.
"Police responded within eight minutes of the call", the writer stated, "and their prompt response enabled the injured person to be removed by the ambulance, which arrived shortly afterwards, and the area to be cleared of the damaged vehicle without any trauma for the young children and parents arriving at the school".
Chief Inspector Alwyin Barton thanked very much the resident's kind comments. He told the Committee he had drawn the remarks to the attention of the officers concerned.
"They were delighted to hear the effect their actions had. It is appreciated when members of the public take the time to say 'thank you'.
"All too often, we only hear the bad news. My officers are the same as any other employees, they work better when they are told, once in a while, that they are doing a good job".
