Discover Ireland's long and winding roads by car

Tourism Ireland in Great Britain has launched a new brochure entitled "The long and winding roads of Ireland", encouraging potential British visitors to come and discover Northern Ireland by car this year.

Fermanagh's Lakelands feature highly in the new and comprehensive brochure which provides a step-by-step visitors guide to discovering the warmth, charm and unique beauty of the island of Ireland by car. The guide includes themed driving tours, such as a Literary Ireland tour and a Film Locations tour; practical driving tips and detailed distance charts; as well as information on accommodation, restaurants and entertainment in each region and suggested general touring routes.

TOURING ROUTES

The touring routes cover Northern Ireland, Ireland's West Coast, Ireland's East Coast and Ireland's South Coast. The tours are designed to highlight the main attractions in each region. So as well as Fermanagh, the tour takes in the Causeway Coastal Route and the Ards Peninsula, suggesting stopping off to visit Carrick-a-Rede, Armagh Planetarium and Mount Stewart, to name but a few. Lawrence Bate, Tourism Ireland Great Britain, said it was important to promote the exceptional beauty of island of Ireland to British visitors who prefer to use their car on holidays.
