Derby
tie is all square

LISNASKEA .............................. 1-9

MAGUIRESBRIDGE .................. 0-12

A pulsating finish to this derby clash between Maguiresbridge and Lisnaskea, the Emmetts snatching the lead with a goal close to the final whistle but before the whistle was blown Maguiresbridge had knocked over an equalising point.

The 'Bridge had been the quicker team out of the starting blocks and they were to generally dictate matters over the opening half going in at the break leading by four points on a scoreline of seven to three.

On the mark for the leaders had been Matthew Teague and Liam Maye while answering for Lisnaskea was their veteran Tommy Maguire. On the resumption however it was Lisnaskea who began to have a greater say in matters and they edged themselves back into the picture.

Points from Daniel Kille and Tommy Maguire gave them a boost but Maguiresbridge were not being totally swept aside and they managed to hold on until they were stunned by the snap Emmetts goal. A high ball was hoisted into the heart of the Maguiresbridge goal area and it was fisted home by James McKenna.

It gave the lead to the side who had been chasing the game all the way from the outset but the 'Bridge were able to respond and they earned a well deserved share of the spoils with Matthew Teague picking off the equalising point with time almost up.

For Maguiresbridge, Conor Hyde had an effective match in the corner back slot and Sean Logan got through a lot of work in the half back line. Further up the park for them, Ronan Teague and Robert Johnson were always prompting the team effort.

For Lisnaskea, Josh McDermott was always a leading figure and Tommy Maguire was another to show up well for them.

Referee Noel Davies Teemore.
