Natural food and herbal fest


Ballyhugh House, Cultural Centre, Ballyconnell are holding a Natural Food and Herbal Fest on Sunday 6th December from 12.00pm - 5.30pm.

The cancer fighting properties of food are headline news as current research is showing convincingly.

The most recent been Turmeric the sacred spice of India and Indonesia, used in curries and mustard. There is no doubt that what we eat affects our health, and there is proven links between diet and disease.

This event is about Health, by showing how even everyday humble foods ie. cabbage, beets, garlic, berries and nettles contain extremely powerful molecules that fight serious disease by acting at the very source of its development.

The main speaker is Margie Lynch ND.DIP.HERB.RGN(ICU).MINA.MIRH, a nurse for 22 years and now a practising Herbalist/Naturopath.

She will focus on wild and native Irish herbs and their medical uses, aspects of the Ayurvedic traditions to herbal remedies for winter blues.

Marian Bradley will give live food demonstrations that include suggestions on how dietary factors may be rationally incorporated into daily living and healthy, tasty recipes that the whole family can enjoy.
